Improved well-being of children with cerebral palsy
Ibulayima Byuma (Child with CP) is 16 years. And is now living a life testimony among the family members.
On the left is Byuma when was identified at his home in Katooga village in 2017. UCPNA supported him with a wheelchair to improve his mobility in 2019 and was also given a goat that produced two (2) kids with support from Abilis foundation. During the family visits held on 14th July 2020, Byuma was found happily at his home and exercising himself to stand upright which was not before. “He does this often and takes advantage of leaning against the wall for support, we see bright future in Byuma because he does not uses a wheelchair when is playing with his sisters and brothers and also his communication has improved.” Says Nakayima(Byuma’s Grandmother). During the COVID-19 Pandemic, one of Byuma’s goat was sold to meet the medical bills. On interview with Nasozi Robinah the Executive Director of Good foundation Academy in Katoogo village narrates that Ibrah participate equally in class room during learning, she always take attentions to see that the learning ability of Ibrah is improved day by day. Ibrah is on top class and his biggest challenge, he lacks a pote seat to ease himself in a better convenient place because it’s not good to keep sharing same wash room with fellow pupils. This can that results him gets other infections.
